This monumental facility \u2013 capable of storing up to <strong>97,000 m\u00b3 of drinking water<\/strong> \u2013 stands as a powerful example of innovative engineering, sustainability, and international collaboration. At the heart of this project lies FILTER&#8217;s engineering and automation expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A visionary infrastructure with global impact<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Located near the historic Karosta swing bridge in Liep\u0101ja, the terminal is designed to collect deep well water, store it securely, and deliver it efficiently to tankers for <strong>export via sea<\/strong>. The 2.5 km long pipeline network and marine loading platform make this a one-of-a-kind installation globally. Designed to maintain a stable 6\u20138\u00b0C water temperature year-round, the terminal integrates cutting-edge technologies and environmental considerations, including <strong>a fully green roof<\/strong> covering the massive reinforced concrete reservoirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FILTER\u2019s technological solution<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>FILTER was entrusted with one of the most critical components of the project: engineering and automating the water intake, storage, and export systems. FILTER\u2019s role involved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. <strong>High-performance pumping system<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FILTER developed a high-efficiency <a href=\"https:\/\/filter.eu\/bg\/produkti\/pompi\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/filter.eu\/product\/pumps\/\">pumping solution<\/a> using <strong>five 350 kW pumps<\/strong>, each delivering <strong>1,000 m\u00b3\/h<\/strong>, operating in <strong>cascade mode<\/strong> for a total flow of <strong>up to 4,000 m\u00b3\/h<\/strong>. This project posed unique challenges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining stable water temperatures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Balancing low intake and high output flow dynamics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designing for hygienic operation and minimal environmental disruption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhen we were offered to design the technology and automation for this vast project, it was clearly ambitious by Latvian standards. But with our experience, we developed a solution tailored to the unique scale and requirements. The equipment at the site exceeded our imagination \u2013 <strong>stainless steel pipes with a diameter of one meter and valves significantly larger than human size<\/strong> were installed.
