Automation system reconstruction for a food industry boiler house and water treatment station

Within the scope of the project, an automation system reconstruction was carried out at a food industry company’s boiler house and water treatment station, replacing physically and technologically outdated automation solutions with a unified, modern Siemens PLC-based automation system. The new system is integrated into the company’s central SCADA system, providing remote monitoring and control capabilities.

Control controllers and operator panels were replaced and upgraded in three automation panels, while the main boiler house control cabinet was completely replaced with a new solution. The previous configuration—where each control loop was managed by a separate controller—was replaced by a centralized control concept, in which all process control is handled by a central PLC controller with a 12-inch operator panel (HMI).

The implemented solution provides a modernized and unified automation hardware platform, SCADA integration with remote monitoring capabilities, improved system transparency and controllability, enhanced service and maintenance possibilities, and increased operational safety and efficiency of the equipment.
